Own Your Future: Catamount Employee-Owners Celebrate ESOP Milestones

As a 100% employee-owned company, Catamount Constructors is uniquely positioned to provide our employee-owners with the ability to build their financial futures and the collective success of the company. Catamount became 100% employee-owned in 2017 – a natural transition for a company already comprised of people who went above and beyond to support each other and the company’s growth. 

Every January, Catamount employee-owners come together across all office locations to commemorate two significant milestones: 

1) Welcoming our new ESOP enrollees to the plan and honoring their 20% vesting status. 

2) Celebrate vested employee-owners earning an additional 20% vesting status.

Catamount’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) follows a graded vesting schedule, allowing each employee-owner to progressively gain ownership of their ESOP account. Catamount has two plan entry dates in January and July, providing opportunities for employee-owners to join the plan based on their one-year anniversary. Those who complete one year of service and 1,000 hours worked will enter the plan the entry date following their one-year anniversary (the employee-owners who we welcomed to the plan in January 2024 started at the company between July 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022). After the completion of five years of service at the company, an employee-owner becomes 100% vested and earns the full benefit of their ESOP account. This long-term perspective fosters loyalty and commitment among the employee-owners, contributing to the company’s continued growth.

In January 2024, Catamount was proud to welcome 34 new ESOP enrollees, and announce 15 new 100% vested employee-owners companywide. Of our 334 current employee-owners, 109 of them are 100% vested, with that number continuing to grow every year.
