ALAMO, TN – Catamount Constructors, Inc., a 100% employee-owned general contractor, has officially broken ground alongside Hitachi Energy on an expansion of the company’s manufacturing campus in Alamo, Tennessee, marking the latest chapter in a strong and ongoing relationship.
The 5-acre design-assist addition and expansion project will significantly enhance the facility’s manufacturing and operational capabilities. The scope includes a 28,000-square-foot expansion of bushing manufacturing and testing areas, 6,000 square feet of new office space, and a new 20,000-square-foot pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) warehouse for material storage. Additional improvements encompass loading dock renovations, 140 new vehicle parking spots, utility relocations, the installation of a Faraday testing chamber, and extensive site enhancements.
This expansion strengthens the relationship between Catamount Constructors and Hitachi Energy, reflecting both teams’ deep technical expertise and shared commitment to safety, innovation, quality, and building projects that support the surrounding communities.
“We’re proud to once again partner with Hitachi Energy on a project that directly supports advanced manufacturing in Tennessee,” said John Lichtenwalter, Division President with Catamount. “This expansion not only enhances their operational footprint but also contributes to the local economy and job growth.”
Construction is underway, with completion anticipated in March 2027.
