DENVER, CO (October 25, 2021) – Catamount Constructors, Inc., a 100% employee-owned national general contractor, announces a new Co-CEO model. With this announcement, the current COO, Tom Seaman, was promoted and James Benning was hired. Current CEO, Geoff Wormer, will transition to the role of Executive Chair on Catamount’s Board of Directors.
Tom Seaman was promoted to Co-Chief Executive Officer (Co-CEO).
Seaman joined Catamount in 2003. He has held positions including Vice President of Operations, Senior Vice President, and most recently Chief Operating Officer. He leverages his experience in all facets of construction management to guide operational excellence across Catamount. Seaman will continue his focus on strategic initiatives, applying his unique combination of technical knowledge and management expertise. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction Technology.
James Benning has been appointed Co-Chief Executive Officer (Co-CEO).
Throughout his career, Benning has excelled in developing people and improving team dynamics. His focus on building a shared vision and culture is rooted in a strong understanding of performance drivers. With over 23 years in the construction industry, Benning brings extensive operational expertise. He prioritizes people-focused leadership, positioning him to support Catamount’s future success for all employee-owners. Most recently, he served as President of Knutson Construction in Minneapolis, MN. Benning earned a Master of Arts in Business Consulting and a Bachelor of Science in Business Communication from The University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD.
The Co-CEO model will enhance leadership capacity and maintain the agility that has driven Catamount’s success since 1997. Seaman’s and Benning’s aligned goals and complementary skills will address the evolving industry’s demands. This approach emphasizes improving employee and client experiences for the company’s future success.
