Tom Saunders 20 Year Anniversary Catamount

Over 20 years, Tom Saunders, Senior Estimator in our Denver office, has built strong relationships, strengthened our teams, and created opportunities for the next generation of construction professionals. Earlier this year, we celebrated his 20-year anniversary with Catamount. While that milestone was recognized in February, his impact continues to be felt every day across our teams.

Over the years, Tom has worked with more than 100 interns, some of whom are now building their careers at Catamount in key roles. Some of the most recent interns shared their congratulations to mark his 20-year anniversary, reflecting the impact he continues to have.

BUILDING PEOPLE AND PROJECTS

Through his leadership and involvement in Catamount’s internship program, Tom builds strong projects and strong people. He shows up with a clear purpose, shares honest feedback, and invests his time where it matters.

And people remember it.

Jared H., a former Catamount intern, described Tom as someone who leads with honesty and clarity. “Tom was definitely a person who will always give you a straightforward answer and be completely honest, that’s definitely something that I can appreciate, especially in the construction industry.”

Jared also credits Tom with creating experiences that leave a lasting impression, from team connections to supporting Catamount events.

Claire K. saw that same commitment firsthand through Tom’s involvement in the internship program: “I was always impressed by his involvement in the internship program at Catamount – it really seemed like he always had our backs.” She reflected on her time with Tom during the DAWG Nation hockey tournament, an annual event organized by the DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation to support the hockey community in times of need, where his investment in both the program and the people involved was evident.

LEADING THROUGH EVERYDAY MOMENTS

Tom’s influence is felt in everyday moments that help people feel supported, included, and confident in their roles.

For Misael R., those moments appeared in simple, consistent ways: “We would often talk about the weekend or whatever was going on around the office, and those simple conversations helped me feel more comfortable stepping into a new role.” He also noted that Tom’s experience, professionalism, and willingness to share his knowledge made a strong impression from the start and helped him build confidence within the team.

LIVING OUR CORE VALUES

Tom’s leadership reflects what it means to be an employee-owner at Catamount.

He Drives Performance through high standards and accountability.
He Enjoys Relationships by building genuine, lasting connections.
He Goes Forward by creating opportunities and investing in others.
He Shares Success by supporting growth across the team.
And he continues to Be Authentic in every interaction.

A COMMITMENT BEYOND CATAMOUNT

Tom’s influence reaches into the community as well. As a long-time volunteer with DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation, he has dedicated his time to supporting students, strengthening connections, and creating opportunities beyond the workplace.

Whether contributing to events, mentoring students, or simply showing up for his fellow employee-owners, Tom leads by example.

Thank you, Tom, for the relationships you’ve built, the people you’ve supported, and the example you continue to set.
