On a warm September day in Golden, Colorado, more than 2,000 girls explored tool stations guided by Catamount employee-owners at Transportation & Construction Girl Day. From demonstrating screwdrivers and ratchets to explaining the skills behind each tool, Women for Catamount volunteers brought their ownership mindset to life, leading with initiative, encouragement, and pride in their work. After completing the challenges, the girls spun the prize wheel, thrilled by the hands-on experience.

“Watching our team work with the girls made my heart swell,” said Courtney L., Women for Catamount volunteer. “Seeing those girls get so excited made the whole day. I am so very proud to call all of you my teammates.”

Moments like these show that ESOP Month is more than just a celebration. It represents a culture built on action, collaboration, accountability, and support.

Making a Difference in Communities

Catamount employee-owners take ownership beyond the office and job sites. Through the Catamount Foundation and Women for Catamount, we make meaningful contributions year-round. In 2025, the Foundation hosted golf tournaments in Denver, Atlanta, and San Antonio, raising funds for worthy causes that intersect with or overlap the construction industry. The Foundation focuses on supporting individuals within the community who have experienced an unexpected hardship; seeks to introduce young people to the industry by funding scholarships and related programs; and supports safety initiatives within the construction industry.

In Atlanta, Emily D. led a team of volunteers to kick off the 2025–2026 season of the ACE Mentor Program, mentoring the next generation of construction and design professionals. Employee-owners also volunteered at the San Antonio Food Bank, collected school supplies for the Stuff the Bus drive, and found other ways to give back throughout the year. Each act demonstrates that ownership means stepping up when it matters most.

Living Our Values Through Action

Drive Performance. Employee-owners take lessons from conferences and put them into practice. Insights are shared across the business, action items are tracked, and improvements are implemented, ensuring that learning leads to personal and professional growth.

Enjoy Relationships.  Strong connections help us elevate every action. This was demonstrated in a recent client comment around proposal delivery: “You had by far the best proposal. The attention to detail, thoughtful questions, and collaborative approach stood out. It’s the personal relationships built when working toward a common goal that elevate the professional and personal connection.”

At Catamount, ownership is more than a mindset. It is the driving force behind every success story, the reason our teams perform with pride, our clients trust our work, and our communities feel our impact.

Voices of Ownership

From mentoring future builders to leading challenging projects, Catamount’s employee-owners live ownership every day.

“Our ESOP is a tangible way we support our employee-owners and the hard work that makes Catamount strong. Ownership is woven into every part of our culture. This is a place where people roll up their sleeves, support each other, and take pride in their work,” said Maddie B., outgoing Chair of Catamount’s Ownership Culture Committee (OCC). “That ownership mindset drives real impact for our clients, project partners, and fellow employee-owners.”

Trenton R., incoming Chair of the OCC, added, “What makes Catamount’s ESOP culture so special is that it gives everyone a chance to step up and make a difference. Taking on the Chair role for the Ownership Culture Committee is one way I’m leaning into Catamount’s core value of “Go Forward: We take action and lead fearlessly”— continuing to learn from others, finding new ways to strengthen our culture, and helping make sure every employee-owner across all business units feels included, valued, and a major piece of the Catamount family.”

Our partners notice the difference, too. Gordon Murray, Senior Vice President at Old Republic Aerospace, said, “Working with Catamount feels different. You can tell everyone takes personal responsibility for the outcome, not because they have to, but because they want to. That pride in ownership is something you can feel across every interaction.”

As ESOP Month wraps up, we celebrate more than events or initiatives. We celebrate a culture where every employee-owner steps up, builds relationships, and strives for excellence. This is the strength of Catamount’s ESOP culture; it is who we are, every day.
