This week marks Women in Construction Week, and we are excited to share stories from a few of our female employee-owners, who represent 18% of our Catamount team – double the industry average of 9.1%!

Callie is a Marketing Coordinator, based out of our Atlanta office.

What are you most proud of doing in your career?

After working hard on a proposal, it’s super rewarding to find out that we’ve won a job. It’s such a great feeling to feel the accomplishment of having a hand in something that your company will bring to life.

What unique skills do you think women bring to the AEC industry?

I think women can bring a different point of view to the industry, and really any industry. It’s also nice to be a part of the diversity in a male-dominated field.

What has it meant to you to have them be a part of your career progression?

It’s a huge deal to have people, especially women, invest in you and your career. I’ve been blessed to work with other women in the industry that not only invest in my professional development, but my personal development as well. I look forward to repaying the favor in the future!

What is the best advice you have received in your career?

To advocate for myself and be the master of my own career. No one will fight harder for me than myself.

What would you say to a female interested in joining the construction industry?

Do it! It’s a fun, dynamic industry to be a part of. Each day is different, which can be both challenging and enjoyable.
